BOO-tiful Celebrity Inspired Halloween Costumes

It's one of my favorite months of the year, October! The reason why I love October so much is because Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday ever. I love the spooky decorations, horror movies, and most of all the fun costumes! Whether you go trick-or-treating with your friends, attend Halloween parties, or are going to an event at school that you need a costume for, the following celebrity looks should provide you with some inspiration for Halloween.

Poison Ivy- I absolutely love Kim Kardashian's Poison Ivy costume. The reason I love it its because it's creative and super fun! You could very easily DIY your own Poison Ivy costume. All you'd need is a masquerade mask, a green dress (you could probably find one at a thrift store), fake plants/ leaves, and a glue gun! Just hot glue the leaves to the dress and mask and accessorize with gold jewelry and a red wig. So cute!

Cleopatra- Cleopatra is a Halloween classic. Not only is it super glam it is also very easy to recreate. All you really need is a white drapey dress. You could even make one out of cheap cotton fabric or a sheet! Then just apply some shimmery gold eyeshadow and wing out your liner. Pile on gold jewelry, a sparkly headband, and a belt and you're good to go!

Batman / Peacock- I love Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greenes' costumes. I especially love Kellan's. Here's a perfect costume for the boys. All you need is a black t-shirt with the batman logo on it, black jeans, the batman mask, and a cape. All of these things are very easy to find or make yourself. Ashley's costume is a bit more intricate but not impossible to recreate. Just find a black corset, a black tutu, and some peacock feathers. Then you could just hot glue the feathers onto the corset. So chic.

Minnie Mouse- Here's a picture of Lauren Conrad rocking a super cute Minnie Mouse Halloween costume. The awesome thing about this costume is that you can probably find all of the pieces in your wardrobe. All you really need is a polka dot dress or separates, white ankle socks, and black heels. Most importantly don't forget the mouse ears! You can probably find a pair of those at any costume shop.

Halloween costumes can be a bit pricey but with a bit of creativity you can create a unique costume that all your friends will be jealous of. Most of all have a fun and safe Halloween, boo-tiful!

My Recent Obsession: Pink for Covergirl

Covergirl has always been one of my favorite makeup brands. The prices are great and the quality is even better. Their foundation never breaks me out and their lipsticks always add a stylish pop of color to my everyday makeup look. When Taylor Swift first became a Covergirl I was very excited. I thought it was awesome how the famous makeup brand had chosen a young popular starlet to be the face of their new line, Nature Luxe. But then, when I found out that the super talented Pink was going to be a Covergirl I could not wait to see the ads in my magazines! Now they are out and I have fallen in love with the makeup look she is wearing and cannot wait to try it out. I am happy to see that the edgy songstress is going to represent the brand. The new photos are edgy, modern, and girly at the same time. I hope that this brand continues to keep their Covergirls as cool and down to earth as Pink. Nice choice Covergirl! Rock it out Pink!

Celebrity Homecoming Inspiration

It's that time of year again. Brisk weather, Halloween, football games, and homecoming of course! If you plan on attending a homecoming dance this season don't leave finding the perfect dress to the last minute! With all your back to school events and plans this dance will spring up on you fast. No worries my loves, it's time to take some inspiration from the stars.

Edgy- If you have an edgy way of dressing like myself a great celebrity to look to for fashion inspiration is Emma Watson. This former Harry Potter star always seems to get it right and land herself on the best dressed list. She has an effortless vibe to her and seems to always dress for fashion. Emma's look is great for homecoming because it's dressy and also very unique. I highly doubt that anyone else will be wearing the same dre as you if you take inspiration for her.

Girlie- For those of you who like a girlie look Selena Gomez serves as a great inspiration. Selena Gomez always manages to look girly, young, and fresh at the same time. You'll rarely see her on the worst dressed list. What I love most about this young fashionista is her fearlessness when it comes to fashion risks. She's not afraid to wear a daring dress and when she does she usually looks fabulous.

No matter what style look you choose to wear to homecoming this year make sure to keep your look classy. If your skirt is on the shorter side make sure your top is more conservative and vice versa. Stay true to yourself and do not over accessorize. A few sparkly touches, a great pair of reasonable heels, and a sensible clutch are all you need. Most of all make sure that you are able to dance in your outfit and most of all have fun!

Picture Day Do's & Don'ts & Taylor Swift Inspired Makeup

Picture day is a very important day in school. Well, at least it is for me. I like to make sure that my outfit is perfect, memorable, but most importantly classic. Have you ever looked at an old yearbook and think "What were they wearing? Look at their hair!"? That's what I always think of when I'm choosing my outfit for picture day. Here are my best tips for looking picture perfect in your yearbook or class picture this year.

1.) Keep your look timeless & classic. Don't wear anything too trendy. The trendier you look now the more outdated you'll look in 30 years when your kids are flipping through your yearbook.

2.) Don't wear shirts that have graphics or writing on them. For some reason at my school when kids would wear Abercrombie t-shirts on picture day the writing would always come out backwards in the photo. This is also the same with graphics. So be careful of this when your choosing your top.

3.) Skip wearing long pendants. Pick a shorter necklace instead. Remember, if this is your school picture you'll only be shown from a bit below your chest up. If you wear a long necklace it's only going to be cut out of the picture.

4.) Wear tops with detail on the neck/collar. This will add a bit of interest to your photograph. You don't want to look generic. Ever.

5.) Don't over accessorize. Keep it simple.

Not only do you want to be careful in choosing your outfit you also want to be thoughtful when it comes to doing your makeup. All-over your lid blue eyeshadow, red lips, and raccoon eyes are not becoming looks. Keep it natural. Keep reading for an easy picture day makeup look how-to and the do's and don'ts of picture day makeup.

Taylor Swift's makeup is always gorgeous and it's perfect for pictures!

How to get one of her famous looks:
What you'll need:
-Your favorite foundation
-Foundation brush (Don't have any makeup brushes? Find some inexpensive & great quality ones here: http://www.eyeslipsface.com/makeup/tools/single-brushes)
- Concealer
- Green concealer
- Matte pressed powder
- Powder brush
- Eyelid primer
- Champagne shimmery eyeshadow
- Flat eyeshadow brush
- Shimmery medium brown eyeshadow
- Shimmery plum eyeshadow
- Fluffy crease brush
- Black liquid eyeliner
- Black volumizing mascara
- Bronzer

1.) Start by applying your favorite foundation to your face. Make sure that it has a very low amount of SPF or none at all. For some reason foundation with SPF in it can make you look shiny in photos.

2.) Dab a bit of regular concealer under your eyes. Blend in with your ring finger. If you have any large breakouts on your face try using a green concealer. (Green reduces redness) NYX makes a great one. Just dab a very small amount of this concealer onto any blemishes.

3.) Set your foundation and concealer with a matte pressed powder. Matte powders are perfect for taking pictures. They erase shine and oil.
4.) Prep your eyelids with a primer. Then, using a flat eyeshadow brush apply a shimmery champagne colored eyeshadow to your lid up to the crease. Next, using a fluffy crease brush apply a shimmery medium brown shade to your crease. After that, using the same brush apply a shimmery deep plum eyeshadow to the outside half of your crease (right over the brown shadow) and smudge a bit onto your bottom lashline, just like Taylor.

5.) Apply black liquid eyeliner in a thin line on your lid as close to your lashes as you can get. You can even wing it out if you'd like for a flirty look. But refrain from making Amy Winehouse cateyes, please.

6.) Brush on two-four coats of black volumizing mascara to your upper lashes only.

7.) Sweep on a bit of bronzer with a powder brush. It is easy to look very washed out in photos, the bronzer will help.

7.) Finish off by applying light pinky/coral lipstick and top that off with a pink gloss.

DO: Wear shimmery pink lipgloss
DON'T: Try out red lipstick for the first time on picture day
DO: Wear shimmery eyeshadow in neutral browns and beiges
DON'T: Wear tons and tons of blue eyeshadow
DO: Accentuate your cheekbones with a tiny bit of bronzer
DON'T: Look like a carrot. All over orange = not a cute look
DO: Wear something classic & chic
DON'T: Wear something tacky or too revealing

Whatever you do or don't do make sure to be yourself and remember to smile, darling. You're beautiful.

What's Inside My Purse

While rummaging through my giant purse the other day I noticed how much of my life is in it. If someone ever went through it they would learn almost every single thing about me. After thinking this I thought it would be cool to make a blog post about what's in my bag. So...here it is!

My favorite handbag designers are Betsey Johnson & Steve Madden. Betsey Johnson makes fun, flirty, and wild bags that add a bit of spunk to any outfit whereas Steve Madden makes practical bags with a bit of edge. Both styles I totally love. Here's what I fill them with:

1.) A Makeup Bag- Mine is white with pink & navy blue polka dots. I fill it with all the essentials needed for touching up my makeup during the day.

2.) Makeup- I don't carry all of my everyday makeup, only the basics. Pressed powder & Lip gloss are musts especially if you are going out with friends after school.

3.) Sunglasses & Case- I briefly talked about my love for aviator sunglasses in another post. I carry a pair in a neon pink case so that they don't get scratched or bent in my bag.

4.) Hand Sanitizer- This is a must. My favorite one is by Bath & Body Works in Sweet Pea. It's really important to clean your hands before you eat lunch.

5.) My iPod & Headphones- I love music and always have my iPod on me. Headphones are much better for your ears than earbuds (especially if you like your music loud like me).

6.) Gum & Mints- This one is self explanatory

7.) Pens, Sharpies, and Pencils- I am constantly jotting down notes

I also have some other random things in my bag like 3D glasses, photobooth strips, my Student Government lanyard, a back up battery for my iPod, my iPod car charger, a Pinkberry card, a Mood fabric store Rewards Card, my ID, a Famous Footwear Rewards Card, & a Starbucks Giftcard.

Handbags are something that we carry around with us everyday, of course they are going to be filled with items that are important to us! They go with us everywhere and carry all of the days essentials. I don't know about you but if I ever was without mine I'd be totally lost.

Luxe Fall Fashion

I've been using my last few weeks of summer to catch up on all my favorite fashion magazines' September issues. One of Fall's biggest trends is luxe details. Whether it's brocade fabrics, heavy knits, jewel tones, snakeskin, animal prints, lace accents, or goth inspired attire, designers have really upped the luxe factor this Fall. This post is all about how you can add a tad bit of luxe to your everyday wardrobe without emptying your bank account.

Here are some great ways to add a touch of luxe to your life:

1.) Scarves- Scarves with lace accent like the one shown above are great for adding a bit of glamour to any outfit. They are comfortable, stylish, and transitional. A lighter scarf is great for the end of summer and beginning of fall. A heavier or knit scarf is perfect for winter.

2.) Belts- I am totally obsessed with the one shown in this post. Leopard print is a great way to add character to any outfit. In small doses it is also very chic and never seems to go out of style.

3.) Hair accessories- The camel colored knit headband I chose to feature is a great piece. I love the color and braiding detail. So glamourous. Hair accessories are great for a discreet glam factor. A jeweled headband makes a chic statement but a tiny jeweled clip is just as cute.

4.) Earring, necklaces, and cocktail rings- All of these can look very luxe with beautiful gem, jewel, and chain details. Keep the shape simple. I love the triangle snakeskin earrings they are simple but have personality.

5.) Nails- I am not a big fan of overly decorated nails. You'll rarely see me with polka dot nails or maybe even an accent nail but that's usually as far as I go. I prefer regular, simple, and solid colors. Metallic, plum, deep red, grey, and dark brown are all very luxe nail polish options. They are trendy and in no way over the top.

Always remember you don't have to wear a trend head-to-toe in order to be stylish. These accessories are a great way to incorporate your favorite trends into your wardrobe without looking like you just walked off the New York Fashion Week catwalks.
