About

Hello my name is Beverly Lorraine and I'm the founder of Freshmen Fashion, a blog that I created in 2012 to combine my love of fashion and writing.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, I am a true New England girl. I recently finished up my freshman year of college at an amazing business university located in the Greater Boston Area. I am majoring in Marketing and minoring in Law. Following university, I plan to pursue a career in the fashion industry. My love for clothing and personal style has certainly not faded since Freshmen Fashion's early days.

Taking pictures of my cats on Snapchat, searching for the best leather jacket, and perfecting my winged eyeliner are just a few of my hobbies. You'll never find me without a coffee nearby. I have always and continue to believe in individuality and being a leader.

Freshmen Fashion started out in the summer of 2012 partly as a way for me to document my upcoming freshman year of high school and partly as a way for me to share my thoughts and opinions on recent fashion trends, news, etc. with a community very much like myself. It turned out to be a huge learning experience for me and really secured my ideas regarding my future. Freshman Fashion helped me find what I loved and what I was good at.

When I first started there were a lot of blogs and magazines out there completely dedicated to fashion but a majority of the time I found the looks they showcased hard to translate into an average teenager's lifestyle. As much as I wanted to, I wouldn't be rocking couture Alexander McQueen or vintage Chanel to class anytime soon. Because of this, I set out to show attainable fashion that was just as much chic as it was affordable. This is something that I still stand by today.

In the past five years I've done a lot of growing up and so has Freshmen Fashion. No, I may not be a freshman in high school anymore, and no, you may not be either, but we are all freshmen when it comes to something in life: college, a new job, newly weds, new parents, whatever it may be. There are tons of new adventures out there for us to experience and be new to, we just have to search them out. Although I'm no longer an underclassmen in high school, I think there is a lot that can be taken from experiencing life as a freshman, not yet jaded by some of life's hurdles, not yet bored by routines, not yet accustomed to anything, looking up to others, looking forward to the future, there is so much that we can take from seeing life like this.

Overall, change is good, spontaneity is good, positive thinking is good, and most of all life is amazing - now let's dress the part.
