Packing Light for Spring Break

Spring Break is starting for a lot of people tomorrow. If you're lucky enough to be going away for a few days or more you're probably in need of some packing inspiration right about now. Packing light will always be your best option. If you're flying, packing light could save you some money and if you're driving you'll want to make the most out of your car's space.

The best way to accomplish this is by choosing items to take with you that can be worn in multiple ways.

Here are seven looks for you to wear on your Spring Break getaway.

For more about these items click here.
First off, it's all about mixing and matching. As you can see I used a dress as a top and a romper as shorts. Figure out what pieces will be serving more than purpose before taking off for your vacation.

Next, pick both basic items and visually interesting items. The basic white tank, teal shorts, and denim cutoffs are great additions to your vacation wardrobe. They are all easily paired with other pieces and go with both patterns and solids. The printed dress, floral romper, and the Ramones halter are what will provide the outfits with style.

For the outfits without the dress or romper, accessories add character. I chose two large statement necklaces and a big floppy hat. Paired with basics these accessories really standout and make the outfits.

Finally, pick no more than three pairs of shoes. No one is going to care if you wear the same pair of sandals three days straight. A pair of brown sandals, black sandals, and suede booties should suffice. Make sure that the shoes you pick have a fun detail so they'll add some personality to your looks. I love these strappy sandals and cut-out booties.

The moral to the story here is that packing can be a cinch if you pick out multi-functional pieces. Only add the essentials to your suitcase and you'll be good to go!

Have a fun and safe Spring Break!

Jewelry pieces with a nautical theme, such as anchors, will add a preppy touch to any look.

Fabulous (Leopard) Find of the Week

Vintage Leopard Strap Watch from Betsey Johnson
This week's Fabulous Find is by one of my all time favorite designers, the amazing, Betsey Johnson. I decided to feature this watch for many reasons. One of them being that I just love the look of a big 'ol watch on a girl. It's definitely one of favorite menswear turned women's wear trends that I love. Second, the classic Betsey Johnson leopard print totally makes the watch and adds a bit of spice and femininity  Finally, I love the face and roman numerals. Some might be a bit intimidated by wearing a watch with such a bold pattern, but for me, leopard's a neutral. This classy and sassy watch is $105 and you can buy one right here. Did I mention shipping is free when you spend $100? If that doesn't seal the deal then I don't know what will.

Fabulous (Iridescent) Find of the Week

Iridescent Oblong Ring from Forever21

This week's fabulous find is from Forever21. A few months ago I talked about this sparkling statement ring in a post about glittery jewelry. I originally saw this gorgeous ring on Forever21's website but did not buy it. Then while I was shopping at the mall the other day I found it in the store and bought it for only $3.80! This ring pairs nicely with a lot more than you might think. I've already worn it twice since I bought it two days ago. You can purchase this ring in size 6, 7, or 8 and in two colors, pink or ivory right here

My Recent Obsession: Alex and Ani Wrap Bracelets

I have briefly talked about my love for Alex and Ani bangles and now I am obsessed with a new product of theirs. Lately, I have been obsessed with these lovely wrap bracelets.

Alex and Ani Wrap Bracelet
These gorgeous wrap bracelets come in two different styles, the "Heart Wrap" and the "Love Wrap". Both versions come in Russian Silver and Russian Gold. What I love most about these bracelets is the spectacular detail. Both are unique and like nothing I've ever seen. For only $48 these bracelets would be a perfect gift for your valentine (or yourself!). Purchase the "Love Wrap" right here and the "Heart Wrap" here.

It's All The Rage: Spring 2013 Trend Predictions

It's almost springtime so I decided to showcase a few trends that I think we'll be seeing a lot of this season.
Disclaimer: Trends are all fine and dandy but please, please, please put your own spin on them! Fashion is about showing your personality. It's okay to try out a trend but don't go overboard in an entirely over-trendy look. In my opinion showcasing your own style is fashion-forward not dressing in total trend.

1. Art Deco Jewelry
I've been seeing graphic statement jewelry everywhere. I especially love this gold cutout necklace.

2. Button-up Blouses
Button-up blouses have been popular for awhile now and I think they will continue to be during the spring months especially in bright and pastel colors.

3. Black & White
I think black and white is going to be a HUGE trend this spring along with B&W bold graphic prints.

4. Round Lens Sunglasses
In my opinion, round lenses and over sized frames are going to make up the season's most coveted style when it comes to sunglasses.

5. Tailored Shorts
With warmer weather season on its way its time again for shorts. Unlike last year's distressed, ombre dyed, and studded cut-offs I think this spring's shorts will be more tailored and toned down.

6. Studs
Studded bags, shoes, and sweaters have been one of the hottest trends this fall and winter. I think that studded clothing and accessories will continue to be popular in the upcoming months.

7. Statement Shoes
When it come to shoes this spring think the more unique the better. Chunky heels, bright colors, and fun designs will be all the rage

Luxe Fall Fashion

I've been using my last few weeks of summer to catch up on all my favorite fashion magazines' September issues. One of Fall's biggest trends is luxe details. Whether it's brocade fabrics, heavy knits, jewel tones, snakeskin, animal prints, lace accents, or goth inspired attire, designers have really upped the luxe factor this Fall. This post is all about how you can add a tad bit of luxe to your everyday wardrobe without emptying your bank account.

Here are some great ways to add a touch of luxe to your life:

1.) Scarves- Scarves with lace accent like the one shown above are great for adding a bit of glamour to any outfit. They are comfortable, stylish, and transitional. A lighter scarf is great for the end of summer and beginning of fall. A heavier or knit scarf is perfect for winter.

2.) Belts- I am totally obsessed with the one shown in this post. Leopard print is a great way to add character to any outfit. In small doses it is also very chic and never seems to go out of style.

3.) Hair accessories- The camel colored knit headband I chose to feature is a great piece. I love the color and braiding detail. So glamourous. Hair accessories are great for a discreet glam factor. A jeweled headband makes a chic statement but a tiny jeweled clip is just as cute.

4.) Earring, necklaces, and cocktail rings- All of these can look very luxe with beautiful gem, jewel, and chain details. Keep the shape simple. I love the triangle snakeskin earrings they are simple but have personality.

5.) Nails- I am not a big fan of overly decorated nails. You'll rarely see me with polka dot nails or maybe even an accent nail but that's usually as far as I go. I prefer regular, simple, and solid colors. Metallic, plum, deep red, grey, and dark brown are all very luxe nail polish options. They are trendy and in no way over the top.

Always remember you don't have to wear a trend head-to-toe in order to be stylish. These accessories are a great way to incorporate your favorite trends into your wardrobe without looking like you just walked off the New York Fashion Week catwalks.
