MAC Lip Products

Over the weekend I visited my local MAC store in search of the perfect nude(ish) lipstick.  It was suggested to me by a salesperson that the shade Creme Cup may be what I was looking for. I tried it on and fell in love. It was the perfect color. Personally, I like my nude lipstick to be on the pinker side and Creme Cup was just that. After that I looked around the store and picked out a Dazzleglass in Sugarrimmed. I was immediately drawn to it's shimmery color. I thought it would look perfect over Creme Cup.

After wearing these two products for the past few days I have noticed that they are long wearing and both have great finishes. They look amazing by themselves or worn together.

I love both of my purchases and I will definitely be visiting MAC again soon.

I’m just now realizing that Freshmen Fashion is now over 1 year old. It is crazy to think that a year has passed. I have learned so much since starting this blog and it has introduced me to some awesome things and people. The fashion blogging community is very supportive of all of it’s members and I am happy to be one of those members.
It’s amazing how much can happen in a single year. I can’t believe that I will never be a high school freshman ever again. It's insane! Freshmen Fashion has been a place for me to talk about all of the things that I love and to share them with people who love them just as much as I do. I started this blog last summer to document my Freshmen year in fashion and to intermix my two greatest loves fashion and writing. I set out to showcase attainable fashion that was chic and affordable. I truly hope that my readers find inspiration from Freshmen Fashion.
I want  to say thank you to everyone who has visited Freshmen Fashion, read a post, left a comment, and followed. I love reading your feedback. It makes me feel great to think that people appreciate the things that I write about.
Personally, I believe that I have grown as a writer since my very first post written all the way back on June 12, 2012. I can only hope to better my writing and fashion knowledge in the future through this blog.
Thank you to everyone that has supported me over this past year. I greatly appreciate it.
I hope that Freshmen Fashion will introduce to me to even more amazing blogs, people, and opportunities over the next year.
Thank you so much,
BL

Beat the Heat & Humidity Hair & Beauty Products

The warm and humid weather is starting up again and sometimes this can affect your hair and makeup. For hot summer days here are some of the best products that will keep your look intact.

Garnier Fructis Fiber Gum Putty (Extra Strong)
This hair gel can help your hairstyle stay in place for hours and keep stray hairs in check. It smells great and has a lighter consistency than your average gel.

Covergirl CG Smoothers BB Cream
On hot days I don't like the feeling of a heavy foundation. This light and airy BB Cream will smooth out your skin, provide coverage, and keep your face hydrated. My favorite part is that it has SPF 15 which will protect your skin from the sun if you're going to be outside for short periods of time. If you want a bit more coverage you can mix this BB Cream with your normal foundation and then apply it per usual.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Heat Defeat Protective Spray
I spray this all over my damp hair before I blow dry it. Not only does it protect your mane from the heat of styling tools it also makes a shield against humidity. Perfect for those muggy days.

Pantene Pro-V Medium This Hair Solutions 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner
This is my year round shampoo. It smells great and also creates a barrier against humidity in the spring & summer.

Garnier Fructis Style Sleek and Shine Anti-Humidity Hair Spray (Ultra Strong)
I'm very picky about hairspray. If it smells bad I will not use it. Fortunately, this hairspray smells wonderful and holds my hairstyle all day long. It's Sleek and Shine Anti-Humidity formula helps prevent my hair from frizzing. It works great with by other anti-humidity products.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm (Peach Kiss)
A great nude lip balm that works well with any makeup style. The best part is that it has SPF 20.

Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder Sensitive Skin (Ivory)
This pressed powder will keep oily skin in check on hot summer days so that your face stays nice and matte.
